Geoff Spotswood’s Coaching Clinics began in 1990 at Crestwood High School in Baulkham Hills, shortly after Geoff returned from a year in Ireland where he taught physical education, coached in secondary schools, and played and coached cricket. That first clinic attracted just twenty young cricketers and laid the foundation for what has grown into one of Sydney’s most respected cricket academies.

A Level 3 Cricket Australia coach and leading educator, Geoff has been providing expert coaching for more than 35 years. He specialises in coaching boys and girls of all ages and abilities — from beginners learning the basics to adults and elite players striving for excellence.

Geoff and his team of highly qualified, accredited coaches deliver programs in a professional, safe, and inclusive environment that fosters technical improvement, game awareness, and personal growth. Each program is tailored to meet individual needs, helping players build skills, confidence, and self-esteem while striving for their personal best.

Over the years, thousands of players have trained at Geoff’s Academy, which is highly regarded across Australia and overseas. Among those he has coached are cricket legends Steve and Mark Waugh, along with many representative players and countless others who simply love the game and want to be the best they can be.

Geoff’s Head Coaches are all qualified teachers with current first aid, anaphylaxis, and sports coaching qualifications, as well as Working with Children clearance.

Highly regarded as both educators and sports coaches, they have been integral to the Academy for many years.

With their depth of experience, they not only lead coaching sessions with confidence but also mentor and develop the next generation of coaches.

Leading Cricket Coaches

Geoff’s Leading Coaches have been part of the Academy for many years and bring the expertise to work independently with players and coordinate programs with confidence.

All hold coaching accreditation and current Working with Children clearance.

Many are people Geoff has taught, coached, or played alongside, and they share his passion for sport and player development.

Known for their leadership, patience, compassion, and ability to inspire, they are dedicated to helping players build skills, refine technique, and grow in confidence.

Junior Cricket Coaches

Geoff carefully handpicks his Junior Coaches from keen sportspeople he has taught, coached, or played alongside.

All hold coaching accreditation and current Working with Children clearance.

Chosen for their personable and adaptable nature, they communicate well with both children and adults and thrive in the team coaching environment.

Under Geoff’s mentorship, they learn the Academy program, gradually take on responsibility for their own groups at holiday clinics, and progress to leading private coaching sessions.
